FEELING BLESSED

What better way to spend your Sunday afternoon then at the local orphanage…and that’s exactly what we did! We decided to stop by on Sunday to say Hello and play with a few of the kids who we had met a few weeks ago. We started a game of Frisbee but the two youngest boys, Henry and Daniel, quickly pulled me away from the game.  Henry kept running over to the side of the building where you could see the sun setting. He would run over, squint his eyes up at the sun, giggle and run away! I game him my sunglasses and they both oohed and awed as they looked through them without hurting their little eyes.

When we first got there Daniel filled my pockets full of little flowers…. later on Henry, Daniel and I all had flowers behind our ears and in our hair! I felt bad because they pretty much ripped all the flowers off the little bush…oops!

Last night we watched a movie based in Africa about two mothers who work together to help prevent malaria. After watching it I realized how blessed I am to have the opportunities I have to serve on a daily basis! If I had watched that movie back in Canada I would have immediately wanted to book a flight to Africa and go and help the children. Yet here I am living in the middle of it all and I don’t even realize how blessed I am! It really made me count my blessings and reminded me to cherish the moments that I get to spend serving the people and children of this country. 

NEW YEAR, NEW NAME

You may have noticed that I have changed the name of my blog! I decided to switch from "Tales of a Nomad" to "Yours truly, E". My main reason for switching was because I want this blog to be both a lifestyle and travel blog. I felt like the name "Tales of a nomad" was more suited for a full time travel blogger which I am not. I wanted a name that was simple so that it wouldn't conflict with what I choose to blog about.

I have been blogging for two full months now (which isn't that long I know!) but I LOVE IT! The blogs below are currently my favourite and I would suggest checking them out if your into reading lifestyle blogs!

1. http://www.somethingdevineblog.com/ - A great lifestyle blog! This is by far my favourite blog I have ever read and I love how she posts pictures and videos it really makes her blog more captivating!

2. http://mrsdrapersstories.blogspot.com/ - Another wonderful lifestyle blog you should check out! I love reading Sarah's blog because she captures both the ordinary and extra-ordinary of life through her writing.

3. http://myadventureacrossthesea.blogspot.com/ - This is my younger sister's blog! She is an amazing writer and her posts never cease to amaze me!
