A MISSIONARY HOMECOMING

June 4th the day was finally here! We coloured welcome home signs and counted down the hours until he would be here! As we drove to the airport we realized we had cut it a bit close and as we pulled up to security we noticed a huge line of cars and immediately we panicked! “Ah were going to miss him” I yelled while savannah said we should have left earlier. Every time the phone rang we answered it, terrified we would hear Jeffs voice on the other line. At least dad will see him I thought. After what seemed forever we finally made it to the parking lot and all ran for our lives to the pickup area, which was crowded! We were scattered all over the place, dad and liam in one area, me trying to get close so I could get a photo without someone’s head in the way it was crazy!

An hour and a half later…so much for missing him eh! FINALLY after almost everyone had gone home we see him walk through the door and we all go running to him from our different areas! We were all smiles as we hugged and realized that our family was together after two years but this time in Uganda.

We drove through Kampala’s crazy roads with Elder Holmes having a heart attack in the back seat from the way mom was driving! That evening as we all gathered for family prayer my heart was full of gratitude and happiness.

WELCOME HOME JEFF!
